Art SpiegelmanArt Spiegelman was born in Stockholm, Sweden and immigrated to the U.S. as a young child. He was very interested in cartooning and majored in art and philosophy despite his parents' wishes for him to become a dentist. Spiegelman eventually left college to participate in the underground comix movement. Since then, he has written for, edited, and published comic magazines in addition to teaching visual arts courses. Maus is his most famous work.
