Rig VedaThe Rig Veda is the oldest religious text still in use. It is one of the four Vedas or canonical sacred texts of Hinduism. It was compiled around 1400 BC, which was a little earlier than the exodus of the Jews from Egypt and several hundred years before the dawn of Greek civilization. Written during a time of migration and intermittent battle, the Rig Veda provides us with a collection of ancient Vedic hymns and prayers. Many of these demonstrate an awe of nature and a desire to understand it.
